Coronavirus (COVID-19) and Asthma Patients:
Patients with asthma should remain on their current medications
Specifically, continuing maintenance medications such as inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) as they have been shown to prevent or reduce asthma exacerbation. It is important to make sure your asthma is under control.
Begin yellow zone of asthma action plan at the first sign of any illness with chest symptoms. There is no harm in following the yellow zone proactively. However, it is not recommended to use the albuterol inhaler or nebulizers unless symptomatic.
Please make an appointment with us if you feel a need to adjust asthma medications.

Dear Patients & Families,
As coronavirus (COVID-19) cases continue to increase domestically and prompt questions about preparation in our health care system, we want to assure you that the providers and nurses at Advancements in Allergy and Asthma Care are closely monitoring the latest protocols and recommendations. The clinic is planning for the predicted spread of COVID-19 in the United States. We are closely monitoring information as it is made available by the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and the Center for Disease Control (CDC).
Currently we are continuing to maintain normal patient visits and allergy vaccination and injection procedures. We have always enforced strict infection control protocols and procedures to keep our patients and staff safe from the spread of any illness and disease, including seasonal influenza and COVID-19. In recent weeks, we have heightened our awareness and diligence with these important infection control measures.
We are asking the following from our patients and families in an effort to prevent the spread of any illness, including COVID-19:
If you, your child, or anyone in your family is experiencing any flu-like symptoms (e.g fever with cough/respiratory symptoms) please contact our clinic to reschedule your appointment for a later date when healthy. Addtionally,
We are taking the following additional precautions at our offices:
As we approach spring break, we also encourage families to review and follow the information on the CDC website regarding travel recommendations/restrictions. The MDH website also provides important information regarding COVID-19. Please visit their websites here:
We will continue to closely monitor the situation and follow guidance from health officials while keeping you informed.
